Troubleshooting Guide for Power on&off Malfunction

Fault Phenomenon:
No response when pressing power-on key; No response with vibration when pressing power-on key; Hanging on the recovery interface; Hanging on the OPPO Logo.

1. No Response when Pressing Power-on Key

Fault Cause:

  1. No-response may result from the serious feeding of mobile phones, which makes it impossible to achieve the start-up conditions.

  2. No-response may result from the abnormal circuit circulation during start;

  3. No-response may result from the crash of the phone system;

  4. No-response may result from the faulty charging circuit;

  5. No-response may result from the defective keys.

Troubleshooting Method:

  1. Confirm whether the phone has been damaged by liquid or broken; if it has been, please suggest the customer go to OPPO service center for further processing;

  2. Confirm whether the phone can be charged normally, and suggest the customer charge the phone for 20 min and power on the phone;

  3. If the phone cannot be solved, please suggest the customer hold and press the volume up +power key for 10s to power on;

  4. Suggest the customer check the status of adapter and the data cable; If the phone cannot be charged normally, please suggest the customer replace with new cable/adapter;

  5. If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;

  6. After receiving the faulty phone, the service center firstly handles the fault according to the above steps; if the fault still recurs, flash the phone for the customer; If the fault still recurs, cross-validate the mainboard, battery, USB FPC, Power key FPC and antenna board.

Note:
Way to reset the hardware:
For models listed after R9s, A57 and F3 Plus: long press and hold Power key+ Volume Up for 10 seconds;
For models listed after R9s, A57 and F3 Plus: long press and hold Power key for 10 seconds.

2. No response but with vibration when power on
Troubleshooting Method:

  1. Suggest the customer reset the hardware of the phone;

  2. If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;

  3. After receiving the faulty phone, the service center firstly handles the fault according to the above steps; If the problem cannot be solved, please technician disassembles the phone to cross-validate the mainboard and the screen.


3. Hanging OPPO when Power on
Fault Cause:

  1. ROOT Phone

  2. OTA Fault

  3. Abnormal Mainboard EMMC(Embedded Multi Media Card)

Troubleshooting Method:

  1. Suggest the customer restart the phone after forcing the phone to power off;

  2. Suggest the customer check whether the phone has been ROOT/ the disk has been damaged;

    1. Long press the volume down key+ power key to enter in Recovery mode;

    2. If the phone is with system after Color OS 3.0, please select “Disk Check” (For system before Color OS 3.0, select “system file verification”);

    3. If it prompts “Find some disk data exceptions”, the phone’s disk has been damaged due to ROOT; if it is, please suggest the customer go to OPPO service center for phone flashing;

  3. Confirm whether the fault results from abnormal OTA, such as interrupted OTA; If it is, please suggest the customer go to OPPO service center for phone flashing;

  4. If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;

  5. After receiving the faulty phone, the service center firstly handles the fault according to the above steps; please technician disassembles the phone to replace the mainboard.


4. Hanging on the Recovery Interface when Power on
Fault Cause:

  1. The recovery interface may result from stuck volume keys(Due to tight or deformed protective case and shell);Please suggest the customer remove the protective case;

  2. Entering in recovery mode may result from the damaged disk;

  3. It may result from damaged key files for starting system;

  4. Entering in recovery mode may result from the faulty mainboard or damaged FPC.

Troubleshooting Method:

  1. Suggest the customer restart the phone;

  2. Suggest the customer remove the protective shell/case(It may result from deformed or unsuitable case) and restart the phone;

  3. Suggest the customer check the status of Volume keys; If the key is stuck, please suggest the customer send the phone for further inspection and repair; OPPO service center will reassemble or replace the key for the customer after inspection;

  4. Suggest the customer confirm whether the phone has been ROOT or whether the disk has been damaged(Refer to the Troubleshooting Method for Hanging OPPO)

  5. If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;

  6. After receiving the faulty phone, the service center firstly handles the fault according to the above steps;

  7. If the fault still recurs, flash the phone for the customer; If the fault still recurs, please cross-validate mainboard and volume keys FPC.
