OPPO Exchange Program: Trade-In Guide for India
How OPPO's trade-in program works, how devices are valued, why a device gets rejected, and what happens if you change your mind.
The OPPO Exchange Program lets you trade in a used smartphone — of any brand — for an instant discount when buying a new OPPO device. OPPO uses Cashify (Manak Waste Management Pvt. Ltd.) as its buyback partner to value and collect your old device. Here's how the program actually works, based on OPPO's official trade-in page and exchange program terms & conditions.
How It Works
- Check your device's value and eligibility. Enter your PIN code and describe your old device to get an estimated exchange value.
- Select your new OPPO device. Choose the OPPO phone you want to buy — the exchange value is applied as an instant discount.
- Prepare your old device. Back up your data, sign out of cloud accounts, remove locks, and charge the device ahead of pickup.
- Hand over your old device at delivery. A courier collects your old device at your doorstep, at the same time your new OPPO device is delivered.
- Your old device is recycled. OPPO's buyback partner processes the device responsibly — OPPO states almost 100% of recovered resources can be reused in manufacturing.
Instant vs. Deferred Exchange
OPPO runs the trade-in as one of two flows, depending on your order:
- Instant Exchange — the price quoted at checkout is final. Your new device is delivered and your old device is picked up in the same visit.
- Deferred Exchange — your new device is delivered first. Your old device is picked up separately, within 7 working days of choosing a payment mode, and the final value is only confirmed after a doorstep inspection — it may be requoted if the device's actual condition differs from what you declared.
Preparing Your Old Device for Pickup
- Sign out of your Google/Apple ID and disable Find My iPhone or any anti-theft/cloud lock — do this before resetting the device.
- Remove the SIM card and any memory/storage cards.
- Back up your data, then erase all data from the device.
- Turn off all screen locks — pattern, PIN, password, and biometric.
- Charge the device to at least 75–80%.
- Keep an active internet/Wi-Fi connection ready for the pickup verification.
Why a Trade-In Might Get Rejected
Delivery personnel inspect your old device on the spot. Common rejection reasons include:
- Cracked screen, visible lines/spots, water damage, or discoloration
- Missing body parts or buttons
- Country lock, network lock, finance lock, or cloud/account lock still active
- Device won't power on, or won't stay on for 30+ seconds without a charger
- IMEI, brand, or model mismatch from what you declared when getting the quote
- Device was purchased outside India
Exchange Bonus Rules
- One OPPO account can apply the exchange bonus and any extra bonus only once every six months.
- Only one device exchange is allowed per smartphone order.
- Select OPPO devices — the Reno16 series is featured prominently — may carry an additional bonus on top of the standard exchange value; check the OPPO Store for current model-specific offers.
- The quoted price is the maximum offer. It may be revised if your device's actual condition doesn't match what you declared, and once accepted, the valuation cannot be disputed.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Instant Exchange: if your device fails the on-spot check, the buyback offer is cancelled and neither device changes hands.
- Deferred Exchange: a failed inspection cancels the pickup, and you forfeit the exchange value and bonus already applied to your order. Up to 3 pickup attempts are made within 7 days; if you don't select a payment mode in time, or remain unreachable, the pickup is cancelled.
- There is no same-day delivery for exchange orders.
- Once your old device passes checks and your new device is handed over, it cannot be returned to you under any circumstance.
- Refunds otherwise follow OPPO's standard store refund policy.
Frequently Asked Questions

Any used smartphone, of any brand, purchased in India and in working condition, is eligible for a quote — provided its brand, model, and IMEI match what you declared, and it passes the on-spot condition checks at pickup.
What's the difference between Instant and Deferred Exchange?
With Instant Exchange, the price quoted at checkout is final, and your new device is delivered while your old device is picked up in the same visit. With Deferred Exchange, your new device is delivered first, and the final value is confirmed only after a doorstep inspection of your old device, which is picked up separately — within 7 working days of choosing a payment mode.

How often can I use the exchange bonus?
One OPPO account can apply the exchange bonus and any extra bonus only once every six months, and only one device exchange is allowed per smartphone order.

Can I get my old device back after it's collected?
No. Once your old device passes the quality checks and your new OPPO device has been handed over, it cannot be returned to you under any circumstance.
