Why Is My OPPO Phone Not Detecting the SIM Card
Are you constantly receiving a notification showing "No SIM Card Inserted," "Invalid SIM," or "SIM Card Cannot Be Detected" on your OPPO device? There are several reasons for a SIM card to go undetected or unread, such as an incorrectly positioned SIM, a malfunctioning or damaged SIM slot, a disabled SIM card, or corrupted phone software. To help you troubleshoot these issues, we provided some helpful steps to try below.
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS versions in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
Troubleshooting SIM Card Detection Issues on OPPO Phones
Below are the troubleshooting steps you can follow if you're having trouble with the SIM card not detecting on your OPPO phone.
Restart Your Phone
Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for at least 10 seconds or until you see the OPPO logo to restart.
Check the SIM Card
Turn off your phone by pressing the Power button and sliding or tapping [Power off], then take out the SIM tray using an ejector tool. Check the SIM card if it is properly inserted or look for signs of damage.
Disable and enable SIM card. Go to [Settings] > [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular] / [SIM & Mobile Network] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data] / [Mobile Network], tap the SIM and toggle on [Enable].
Try another SIM card (if you have one) on your Android phone. This should tell you whether the error is with the SIM card or the phone and SIM slot. If the SIM is not detectable on another phone, refer to your network provider. If the SIM is detected on another phone, continue the following troubleshooting steps or send your OPPO phone to the nearest service center for inspection.
Reset Your Phone to Factory Settings
If all the above steps have not fixed the problem, reset your OPPO phone to factory settings. Back up and transfer the data on your phone first, then reset your OPPO phone to its initial state and settings.
For ColorOS 15 to ColorOS 16: Go to [Settings] > [System & update] > [Back up & reset] > [Reset phone] and tap [Erase all data].
For ColorOS 13 to ColorOS 14: Go to [Settings] > [Additional settings] > [Back up and reset] > [Reset phone] and choose an option to erase all data.
For ColorOS 12: Go to [Settings] > [System settings] > [Back up and reset] > [Reset phone] and tap [Erase all data] and choose an option to erase all data.
For ColorOS 11: Go to [Settings] > [Additional settings] > [Back up and Reset] > [Erase all data (factory reset)] and choose an option available for factory reset.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, prepare your warranty card and contact your nearest OPPO Customer Service. You can also contact OPPO Support so we can help and assist you further with your concern. Depending on your region, you may check if you need to book an appointment before visiting your local Service Center.
