Fix Airtel Outgoing Calls Issue on Your OPPO Phone
You may be experiencing issues making outgoing calls on your OPPO device while using an Airtel SIM card. This problem may arise if the 4G network switches to 3G during a call, particularly when the network is unstable. Below, you'll find some methods to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. Let's get started!
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
Outgoing calls on Airtel SIM
Cause of the issue
It is because sometimes the 4G network gets switched automatically from the 4G network to 3G during a call when the network is not stable. If Airtel's 3G network does not cover your location, your phone will get "No service," which will lead to failure to make outgoing and incoming calls. If you find there is a probable failure when you are trying to make an outgoing call with your Airtel SIM card under the 4G network, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.
How to confirm the above cause
Firstly, you have to confirm whether your location is covered by a 3G network (Airtel operator). Follow the path below.
1. Go to [Settings] > [Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular Network] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data] > choose SIM > [Preferred Network Type], select 3G only and check if the status bar shows No service.
2. In [Settings] > [Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular Network] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data] > choose SIM > [Preferred Network Type] and switch to 2G only, to check if the calling is normal.
Note: If your call fails with the 3G network while it is back to normal with the 2G network, that means the location didn't get the 3G network covered by the Airtel operator.
Solution
To ensure that you can make calls normally, we suggest that you switch the network type to 2G only under [Settings] > [Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular Network] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data] > choose SIM > [Preferred Network Type].
