Why Does My Phone Stay Unlocked with Smart Lock Enabled
Smart Lock is a feature designed to keep your OPPO phone unlocked in situations where the device determines it is safe, such as when you are holding it, carrying it, or staying within a trusted place or connected to a trusted device. If your phone remains unlocked longer than expected, it may be due to Smart Lock being enabled. This article explains how Smart Lock works, why your phone may stay unlocked, and how you can manage or disable the feature.
How Smart Lock Works
Smart Lock uses sensors, location information, and trusted device connections to decide when your phone can remain unlocked. Once you unlock your device manually, Smart Lock can keep it unlocked under certain conditions until the system detects it has been set down or becomes inactive.
Common reasons your phone stays unlocked
You are carrying or holding the phone (on-body detection)
You are inside a trusted place
Your phone is connected to a trusted Bluetooth device
How to Enable or Manage Smart Lock
You may be asked to enter your lock screen password before access.
For ColorOS 14 and Above: Go to [Settings] > [Security & privacy] > [More security and privacy] > [Extend Unlock].
For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13: Go to [Settings] > [Password & security] > [System security] > [Smart Lock].
For ColorOS 7 to ColorOS 11: Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Smart Lock].

On-Body Detection

How it works

Once you leave that location, the device locks normally
If your phone remains unlocked unexpectedly, you may be within a trusted place zone that was set earlier.
Trusted Devices
(Available on ColorOS 11 and above)
Keeps your device unlocked while connected to a trusted Bluetooth device such as:
Smartwatch

Wireless earbuds
Bluetooth range can reach up to 100 meters, which may explain why your phone remains unlocked even when slightly away from the device.
