Turning on Location Services is very important to some apps so it will have real-time information as to where you are. These are some of the things you can do when your Location Service is enabled:
Real-time clock/time zone wherever you are in the world.
Update weather conditions wherever you are in the world.
Ride-service hailing (Grab, Uber, Lyft, Didi, Ola, and others)
Food Delivery Services
Geotagging videos and images
Turn on Location Service
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Control Center, then tap the [Location] icon .
2, You can also go to [Settings] > [Location]/ [Location Service] > [Use location] to turn on.
In some OPPO phones, you can turn on the location services through [Settings] > [Google] and toggle [Location] to turn it on.
You can choose from three types of positioning modes, which differ in accuracy and battery drain:
1. High accuracy (GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network).
2. Battery saving (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network).
3. The device only (GPS).
History of recent location requests
You'll see a list of apps that have requested locations. Tap an app to enter the App info page that allows you to manage the app directly.
For ColorOS 11 and above: Go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings] > [Location]/ [Location Service] > Under the Recent Location Requests, you can manage the application that recently used your OPPO smartphone's location.
Positioning Control
Apps that use GPS in the background: This allows the app to use GPS in the background when enabled. Keeping the background GPS of the apps active may drain the battery significantly.
Scan: This allows you to scan Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to improve location accuracy.
Google Location service
To enable location services for Google, go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings] > [App] > [App management] > Then look for Google > [Permissions] > [Location] > Then tap on [Allow all the time].
Use Google Location History to retrace your steps. Google Location History will customize search results for location and search history.
Use Google Location Sharing to share your locations with friends and contacts in real time.
