In this modern age, younger generations are using smartphones for educational or entertainment purposes. While this offers many benefits, it also exposes them to risks such as inappropriate content and excessive screen time. To manage these concerns, OPPO phones offer a feature called Kids Mode. This tool allows parents to ensure a safe browsing experience for their children by setting screen time limits and selecting appropriate apps, giving them peace of mind while letting their children use technology responsibly.

Benefits of Kids Mode

Kids mode is a dedicated space made for children to enjoy a safe and engaging digital experience. This feature offers the following benefits:

  • Dedicated home screen: Include apps that are suitable for children to build a digital space they will enjoy.

  • Promote healthy screen time practices: Set screen time limits to avoid excessive device use.

  • Eyesight protection: Keep an eye on your child's sitting position and the distance they maintain from the screen to ensure responsible use of electronic devices and reduce the risk of nearsightedness.

Steps to Set Up Kids Mode

  • For ColorOS 14 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Accessibility & convenience] > [Kids mode] and follow the prompts, then you can choose the allowed apps, limit the screen time, and set the network and Eye Comfort to complete the setup of Kids mode.

  • For ColorOS 13 and below: Go to [Settings] > [Special features] > [Kids mode] and follow the prompts, then you can choose the allowed apps, limit the screen time, and set the network and Eye Comfort to complete the setup of Kids mode.

  • This feature is available on certain device models. You can verify your phone's compatibility through the settings pathway mentioned above.

  • If your device is already secured with a screen lock password or fingerprint authentication, you can proceed directly into Kids Mode.

  • If your device does not have a screen lock password, the system will prompt you to set one up before accessing Kids Mode.

  • The password for Kids Mode is the same as your screen lock password. If you forget this password, you will be unable to unlock your phone and retrieve any data saved on it.
