Creating Kid Space-At-Home on OPPO Phone

Kids seek fun and adventure in their way. And sometimes, kids want their own space too. With OPPO's Kid Space, you can give your kids space on your phone to explore their creativity while you still take care of what they can access and for how long. Read on!


Note: Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].


Kid Space

Kid Space aims to create a safe digital space for your child. Once entered in Kid Space, it helps to limit the screen time in a child-friendly app while taking care of their eyesight. You can set up the space of your kids using Kid Space on the OPPO phone. Follow the guide we created below.

How to set up Kid Space

  • For ColorOS 13:  Go to [Settings] > [Special features] > [Kid Space] > [Get Started] and select apps for your kid > [Next] and set a screen time limit and tap [Next] and customize the settings for your child's needs. Tap [OK]. 

  • For ColorOS 12.1: Go to [Settings] > [Special features] > [Kid Space] > [Enter] and select apps for your kid and tap the [Check] icon at the upper right corner. 

  • For ColorOS 7 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Kid Space]. To enter the Kid Space, you need to select an app first. Tap [Apps allowed to be accessed] / [Allowed apps] and select an app and go back, then tap [Enter Kid space]. 

  • For ColorOS 6.2.1 to ColorOS 3.1: Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Kid Space]. To enter the Kid Space, you need to select an app first. Tap [Apps allowed to be accessed] and select an app and go back, then tap [Enter Kid space]. 

Note: The lock screen password is required to set parental controls and exit Kid space. 


Duration allowed each time

You can set a duration of use. This will alert the user and lock the screen within 30 seconds of exceeding the limit.

  • For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13: On the home screen of Kid Space, tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Parental Controls], then enter or verify your lock screen password > [Time limit] > and select a time limit.

  • For ColorOS 3.1 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Security]/ [Privacy] > [Kid Space] and tap [Duration allowed each time] to select a time limit.


Apps allowed to be accessed

You can select apps that you want to make accessible for your children.

  • For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13: On the home screen of Kid Space, tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Parental Controls], then enter or verify your lock screen password > [Apps in Kid Space] / [Added apps] and select an app to add in Kid Space.

  • For ColorOS 3.1 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Security]/ [Privacy] > [Kid Space] and tap [Apps allowed to be accessed] / [Allowed apps] and select an app to add.


Internet access

  • For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13: On the home screen of Kid Space, tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Parental Controls], then enter or verify your lock screen password. Toggle the [Wi-Fi] or the [Mobile Network] to turn off. 

  • For ColorOS 3.1 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Security]/ [Privacy] > [Kid Space] and turn on [Turn off mobile network].

Exit Kid Space

  • For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13: On the home screen of Kid Space, tap the [3-dotted] icon > [Exit], then enter or verify your lock screen password.

  • For ColorOS 3.1 to ColorOS 11.3: On the home screen of Kid Space, tap [Exit Kid Space] / [Quit Kid Space] and enter the lockscreen passcode.
