Make the Most of Google Assistant While at Home

You can have an assistant, and it's free!
One of the most useful tools that Google has made by far is the Google Assistant. What makes it more amazing? The Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversations. You will have a meaningful conversation with each other because Google knows everything!

There are many ways you can utilize this feature, especially now that you are staying at home these days.

Applicable for: ColorOS 2.1 and above device. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About phone].

Here are a few things you can do:

 Ask questions.

 Schedule things for you.

 Play music and movies.

 Call or message someone.

 Check the weather.

Update you with recent news and happenings.

Connect to other smart devices and MORE!

Activate Google Assistant

Be sure to have an active Gmail account. You have to match your voice first and follow the process/prompts, then you are done.

Launch Google Assistant

The fastest way is to start with ‘Ok Google’ or touch and hold the Home button. Anytime and anywhere.

There are other ways to launch it using your OPPO phone:

  • Control Center. Slide down from anywhere on your phone—from any app or screen, even from the lock screen to open the Control Center. Then press null to open Google Assistant.

  • Power Button. Wake up Google Assistant by pressing and holding Power button in 0.5 seconds.

To wake up Google Assistant by pressing and holding the power button, go to [Settings] > [Smart & Convenient] / [Convenience Aid] / [Convenience tools] > toggle [Press and Hold the Power Button for 0.5s to Wake up Google Assistant] / [Wake Google Assistant with Power Button] to green to enable.

* Smart & Convenient is split into Smart Services and Convenience Aid (or Convenience tools) in ColorOS 6.0 and above devices.

Note: After performing a factory data reset and you make a long press on the “Power” button for the first time, a message will appear asking if you want to turn on or off “Google Assistant” by long-pressing the power button.

Are you ready for your Netflix movie marathon? Tell Google Assistant to remind you.

Additional information: If your screen gets damaged, you can still control your device to make phone calls, to play any media on your device with your Google Assistant.
