If you’ve forgotten your lock screen password, there are several ways to unlock your OPPO device depending on your ColorOS version. This guide applies to ColorOS 5 and ColorOS 6 and provides different methods you can use to regain access to your phone.

Fingerprint or Face Unlock

  • If your phone supports unlocking via fingerprint or face recognition, prioritize using these methods to access the desktop.

  • Before proceeding, consider backing up essential data like WeChat information.

Note: Depending on the recovery method, your device data may be erased during the process.

Reset Using the Forget Password Option

If you repeatedly enter the wrong password, the [Forget Password] option may appear on your screen. To reset your password using this option:

  1. Enter an incorrect password five times on the lock screen.

  2. Tap [Forget Password] when prompted.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.

  4. If you see the message “You need to contact the service center for help,” visit an authorized OPPO Service Center with your device and warranty card.

Note: Unlocking through this method may erase all data on your device.

Reset Using a Registered Email Address

If the lock screen displays “Email address xxx”, you can reset your password by verifying your registered email.

  1. Enter the complete email address associated with your account.

  2. Follow the verification steps to reset your lock screen password.

Reset Using the Fingerprint Verification

If you see the message “Please put the correct finger on the fingerprint button,” place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. Once verified, follow the on-screen instructions to change your lock screen password.

Note: These recovery methods may not always remove the lock screen password successfully. If unsuccessful, seek assistance from an OPPO Service Center.

Visit an OPPO Authorized Service Center

If you can’t unlock your device using the above methods, please visit the nearest OPPO Authorized Service Center for assistance.

Note

  • To prevent lock screen password issues due to prolonged inactivity, remember that after the phone is turned off, restarted, or inactive for more than 72 hours, it defaults to unlocking only with the lock screen password.

  • OPPO acknowledges the importance of secure access to your device and provides multiple avenues for password recovery. Follow these steps based on the prompts you receive on the lock screen, and if needed, seek assistance from OPPO's service center to ensure a smooth resolution.
