How to Make Ringtone Play in Headphones on OPPO Phone Calls

When you are in a public space wearing headphones or earbuds and receive a call that rings out through your phone's speaker, it can be uncomfortable and disruptive. This guide will assist you in preventing that scenario and will guide you through the settings to ensure that the next time you receive a call, the ringtone plays through your headset or earbuds instead of the speaker, helping you keep proper etiquette in public.


Note: This feature does not take effect when connected to in-car devices or smartwatches.

  • This article is only applicable to OPPO phone models running on ColorOS 16 and above. Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].


How to Enable Play Ringtone in Headphones

There are two methods to enable this function:


Method 1:

  1. Go to [Settings] > [Sound & Vibration].

  2. Tap [More].

  3. Toggle [Play ringtone in headphones] to enable.

Method 2:

  1. Go to [Settings] > [Bluetooth].

  2. Tap [Paired Devices].

  3. Toggle [Play ringtone in headphones] to enable.
