Explanation and solutions for A33f JIO 4G Voice prompting “calling is disabled” and JIO cannot make calls

1.[Background]Recently HQ received the feedbacks that after OTA, A33f JIO 4G voice prompting “calling is disabled” and JIO cannot make calls. Here are common situations:
- Version 161112:when customers use JIO 4G voice, it cannot make phone calls and prompts Calling is disabled;
- Version 161112, version 160919 and before: A33f cannot make phone calls when use JIO;
- Version 161203: VLOTE cannot switch on;
- A33f after OTA to version 161203, it cannot use JIO to make VOLTE call.
- On the condition of version 161112,JIO 4G voice cannot make calls and prompt “calling is disabled”: some A33f used to be OTA to version 161024 and this version support VOLTE function. There would be a flag bit in configuration document. Later period the devices are upgraded to version 161112 and this version cannot support VOLTE, but the flag bit would not be wiped, so this would lead to VOLTE application have a wrong judgement and prompt “calling is disabled”;
- Version 161203 can receive calls but cannot make calls, VOLTE can register normally: customers upgraded the devices to version 161203, the VOLTE database is off for version 161112 and OTA would not upgrade it, so that JIO SIM card have problem in making phone calls but not in receiving.
Solution
1.[Support situations for each version]Here are support situations for JIO SIM cards calling and receiving of A33f each version:
- Version 161112, version 160919 and before cannot support VOLTE;
- Version 161024 and 161203 can support VOLTE;
- The latest version 161222 can well support VOLTE and the have a stable performance.
- OTA upgrade online: it’s suggested to OTA upgrade online by customers themselves(Wi-Fi is available)to latest version 161222:
If the devices upgraded to the latest version and the phone icon of JIO 4G voice application is grey (it’s the defect of the application judgement, and it won’t influent VOLTE function). Maintenance engineers can guide customers to use built-in dial plate to make a VOLTE call;
- Flash the devices: if customers require after-sales to flash the devices, after flashing to the version 161222 or the later versions, it should be noted “JIO VOLTE flash” in Remark column of CRM record system.
