Create a Compressed or ZIP File in OPPO Phones
Compressing a file reduces its file size which might help you in saving up the storage on your device or SD Card. It is also useful when you want to transfer multiple files such as photos & music at once. Compressed files are transferred quickly as they take up less space. If you’re looking to unzip or extract a file on your OPPO phone, you can use the OPPO File Manager. However, it is suggested to use a third-party file compressing application for advanced compressing options Follow the article below to learn how to compress or extract a ZIP file on your OPPO phone.
Applicable to: ColorOS 6.0 and above. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone].
How to compress files
Open [File Manager/ My Files] from the home screen or app drawer.
Tap [Phone Storage/ SD Card] and go to the file destination.
Tap and hold to select the files or folders to be compressed.
Tap [More].
Once selected tap [Compress].
Select [Compress to current folder] if you want the compressed ZIP file to be saved in the same folder where the files to be compressed are stored. You can also choose the folder for the compressed ZIP file by tapping [Select folder]. Once the folder is selected, tap [Compress here] and enter the file name to start the compression.
Note: The compression may take some time depending on the number and size of files.
How to decompress a ZIP file
OPPO's default file manager supports extracting files from a ZIP file. So, you can open the [File Manager] > Select the ZIP file and open it> Tap [Extract All] and select the folder to be extracted.
