Why isn't OPPO Watch's GPS Working Properly

OPPO Watch is equipped with GPS to help you keep track of your location when you're out or working out. However, there will be instances when your OPPO watch's GPS might fail to give accurate results. For example, it is advised for users to exercise in open fields so that buildings won't block signals. To know more about the factors affecting your OPPO watch's GPS and how to resolve them read the simple guide we created below.

How to fix OPPO Watch's GPS issue

There will be instances wherein your OPPO Watch can't give you an accurate or desired location. This might be because something is interrupting your watch's GPS. Read the following to troubleshoot this issue:

  • Tall buildings might block the GPS signal. Try exercising in parks, playgrounds, or other open spaces to get a stronger signal.

  • Your ephemeris data (data used by the GPS receivers to estimate your location) might be outdated. We recommend connecting your OPPO Watch to your smartphone at least once a week.

Factory reset your OPPO Watch

Factory resetting your OPPO Watch will return it to its original system state. Doing this will delete all the information stored on your watch, including the files that might be causing the said issue. See What Happens When You Factory Reset Your OPPO Watch.

Go to your OPPO Watch's [Control Center] by swiping up from the watch face > tap on the [Settings] > go to the [System] > tap on the [Disconnect & reset] > tap on the check icon to proceed.

If this doesn't solve the issue

If you've already performed the previous steps, but the issue persists, a hardware problem might be causing the issue. Prepare your warranty card and contact your nearest OPPO Customer Service. You can also contact OPPO Support so we can help and assist you further. Depending on your region, you may check if you need to book an appointment before visiting your local Service Center.
