Why Edge Lighting Is Not Working in Reno12 Series
The Edge Lighting feature is a useful tool in many OPPO devices, enhancing notifications with a glowing effect around the screen’s edges. However, some users of the Reno12 Series may experience issues where Edge Lighting doesn’t activate when receiving notifications. This article explains the root cause and provides a step-by-step guide to resolving the issue.
Edge Lighting Doesn't Work When Notifications are Received
The issue arises when the “Wake screen when a notification is received” function is enabled. This feature wakes up the entire screen upon receiving a notification, which conflicts with the Edge Lighting function.
How to Resolve the Issue with Edge Lighting
To restore the Edge Lighting functionality, users must disable the conflicting feature.
Go to the home screen and navigate to the [Settings] app. > Scroll down and select [Notification & Status Bar]. > Toggle off the option [Wake screen when a notification is received].
Disabling the wake screen function ensures that the screen remains off when notifications arrive, allowing the Edge Lighting to activate as intended. This resolves the conflict and restores the panoramic lighting effect.
Notes:
The Edge Lighting feature is exclusive to devices with OLED screens and functions optimally in dark environments.
If the problem persists, ensure your device is running the latest software.
