The OPPO Watch has an altimeter sensor that can accurately detect elevation changes and calculate your elevation gain during physical activities such as hiking or climbing. This feature is particularly useful for those who want to keep track of their progress and monitor their fitness goals.

However, it is important to note that the accuracy of the altimeter sensor can be affected by various factors, such as changes in atmospheric pressure, weather conditions, and nearby buildings or structures. For example, if you are hiking in a mountainous area with rapidly changing weather conditions, the altitude readings may fluctuate and become less precise.

Additionally, the OPPO Watch's altimeter sensor may have difficulty detecting small elevation changes, especially if you are moving slowly or standing still. In some cases, it may even register false readings if you are in an environment with poor GPS reception or interference from other electronic devices.

The possible reasons why OPPO Watch showing inaccurate floor count

Floors you take are counted using OPPO Watch's altimeter sensors which detect your elevation gain. The following factors affect the accuracy of your floor count:

  • Story/building height - Some buildings' floor height differences may affect your floor count.

  • Debris stuck in the watch - If debris or liquids (sweat or raindrops) come between your OPPO Watch's sensor and your skin, your device might have an inaccurate floor count.

  • Temperature - A sudden change of weather or temperature can sometimes be the culprit of inaccurate floor count registered on your OPPO Watch.

  • Barometric pressure - The Barometer in your OPPO Watch detects the change in air pressure when you're climbing a building. The floor count/flight climbed will depend on the computation of the Barometer inside your watch. If this Barometer gets damaged, issues such as inaccurate floor count may arise.

  • Outdated system - An outdated OPPO Watch is at risk of issues caused by obsolete files and software. This issue might be the reason why your watch is showing an inaccurate floor count.

  • Damaged sensors - You might've accidentally dropped your OPPO Watch or used it underwater more than the water limit it could withstand, causing its sensors to be damaged.

Note: OPPO Watch 46mm (including LTE and Wi-Fi version) are water resistant to 50 meters, and OPPO Watch 41mm (Wi-Fi) is water resistant to 30 meters.
