What to Do if OPPO Phone is Not Receiving App Notifications

If your OPPO phone cannot receive notifications from your applications, you can check your notification settings to see if you have enabled notifications from it. Below is a simple guide to OPPO message settings to optimize app notifications and notification problems. Just read on!

Follow the steps presented below to resolve the said issue regarding the notification on your OPPO phone.

 

Check the settings of your phone

  1. Go to [Settings] > [Notification and Status bar] > [Manage notifications] > Tap the application that you wish to receive notification, and enable [Allow Notifications].

  2. Make sure that the [Low Power mode], [Airplane mode], and [Quiet Time] or [No disturb mode] / [Do Not Disturb] is turned off.

    Turn off Airplane mode: Go to [Settings] > Toggle [Airplane mode] to disable. Or slide down to see the Control Center and tap the [Airplane mode] icon.

    Turn off Do Not Disturb: Go to [Settings] > Toggle [Enable Now] to disable.

  3. Allow apps to continue running in the background.

    •  For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App management] > Select the application > [Battery usage] > Enable [Allow background activity].

    • For ColorOS 11 to 11.1: Go to [Settings] > [App management] > [App list] > Select the application > [Battery usage] and select [Allow background activity].

    • For ColorOS 7 to 7.1: Go to [Settings] > [App management] > [App list] > Select the application > [Battery usage] and select [Run in Background] / [Allow background activity].

    • For ColorOS 6.0 to 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [App management] > Select the application > [Power Saver] and select [Run in Background].

    • For ColorOS 5.0 to 5.2: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > Select the application > [Power Saver] and select [Allow Running In The Background].

    • For ColorOS 3.2: Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Energy Saver] > Select the application and turn off [Background Freeze] and [Abnormal Apps Optimization].

    • For ColorOS 3.1: Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Energy Saver] > Select the application and turn off [Background Freeze], [Abnormal Apps Optimization], and [Doze].

    • For ColorOS 3.0: Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Others] > Select the application and Turn off [Freeze when in Background] and [Automatically optimize when an anomaly is detected].

  4. Tap the [Recent Task] / ICON Additional Settingskey button and slide down the application page until you see a lock icon in the upper corner to allow applications to run in the background. Then the application will keep running in the background.

    • In some OPPO phones: Tap the [Recent Task] /ICON Additional Settings key button, then tap the [2-dotted] / [3-dotted] icon and tap [Lock].

  5. Go to [Phone Manager] or [Security Center] or [Security] > [Privacy Permissions] > [Startup Manager] and turn on the button to allow the application to start on boot and start in the background.

    • In some OPPO phones: Go to [Phone Manager] or [Security Center] or [Security] > [Startup Manager] and turn on the button to allow the application to start on boot and start in the background.


Make sure that your phone is connected to a network

Make sure that your phone is connected to a mobile network or Wi-Fi network.


Check the version of the application

Check if there are any updates to the application and download the latest version from the Play Store. Check if the problem persists after the installation of the latest version. See How to Update Applications in Google Play Store?


Check for the latest version update

Go to [Settings] > [System Updates] / [Software Updates] on some devices to check the system version and update it to the latest version.

  • In some OPPO phones: Go to [Settings] > [About device] > [System Updates] / [Software Updates].
