User Data Clearing Guide for Service Centers

1.Purpose

User privacy security has been placed in a more and more important position. To protect user’ privacy, service centers are required to clean users’ data before returning back the phone or mother board to factory. If there are some phones or motherboards which cannot power on, they must be packed separately with phones in which data have been cleared.

3.1 Return type 

3.1.1 Phone type
a.DOA/DAP phone
3.1.2 Motherboard type 
a. In warranty motherboard
b. The motherboard that the user paid but did not take away
c. The motherboard that the user takes away after paid

3.2 Processing requirements for various types of phone and motherboard

3.2.1 Processing requirements for all returned machine, in warranty motherboard and paid but not take away motherboard
Before returning to the factory, the user's data in the phone or the motherboard should be cleared (flash) and confirmed face to face with the user before cleaning. The phone or motherboard which cannot be cleared (such as: cannot power on or cannot flash) need to make a distinction separately with ones that have been cleared
3.2.2 Processing requirements for the motherboard that the user takes away after paid
Remind users to clear the data in the motherboard to prevent information leakage.
3.2.3 Recording Requirements
Choose one of the options to record the actual situation of clearing data in the “Whether to clear data” of Salesforce system:
Data cleared;
Cannot clear data for power on failure;
User agrees to keep the data;


4.Notice

The factory will randomly check the returning phones and the main boards on a monthly basis, and the areas that not implements as required will be punished by the factory;
