Unable to Hear Other Person in a Phone Call Using OPPO Phone
Are you in a situation where either you or the caller cannot hear each other during a call? Sometimes, hanging up the call may temporarily fix the issue, but it won't always work. There could be several reasons why this is occurring, and by following the guide below, you'll be able to troubleshoot and identify the issue. Read on!
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
Phone call issues: Can't hear another person
Try the steps below if you or the caller cannot hear during a phone call.
1. Check the signal strength.
Check the signal strength of both the caller and receiver ends. The poor signal on either end can affect the clarity of sound. See OPPO Phone has No Network Coverage or Poor Signal.
2. Check if the call is a default phone call or from a third-party call app.
If it's from a third-party call app, try updating the call application.
3. Ensure your microphone is working.
The other person on the call may not hear you when your microphone is not working. You can check this link to see if your microphone/ audio is working.
4. Connect an earphone to your phone.
You may use an earphone suitable for your phone and check if the other person can hear you.
5. Clear the cache and data of the Phone application.
For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap the [2-dots] icon in the upper right corner > [Show System] > [Phone] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 7.0 to ColorOS 11: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap the [
2-dots] icon in the upper right corner > [Show System] > [Phone] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process] > [Phone] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 3.1 and ColorOS 3.2: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [All] > [Phone] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 3.0: Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Application Management] > [All] > [Phone] > [Clear Data].
6. Clear the cache and data for Call Management.
For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap the [2-dots] icon in the upper right corner > [Show System] > [Phone] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 7.0 to ColorOS 11: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap the [
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process] > [Call Management] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
7. Update the phone software.
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] / [System Updates] / [About Device].
8. Restart OPPO phone.
To restart, press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for at least 8 seconds or until you see the OPPO logo.
9. Insert SIM card into another phone.
Insert the SIM you're using to your OPPO phone to another phone to check if the issue continues. If yes, kindly seek assistance from your mobile operator (MO).
