Tips to boost gaming performance on OPPO phone
Close background running apps
Regularly close all background apps that are running at the back-end to avoid the game from lagging. See Smart Clean-up With Just One Tap.
Increase phone refresh rate
The higher the screen refresh rate, the better visual feel you get out of your games, and the smoother the screen is to control. On the home screen, go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness] > [Screen Refresh Rate] and choose a higher refresh rate.
For ColorOS 11 and above devices, go to [Settings] > [Display & brightness] > [More] > [Screen refresh rate].
Note: Most OPPO phones comes with a fixed 60Hz refresh rate. Not all OPPO phones has the option to choose the refresh rate.
Avoid playing while charging
Your phone can easily heat up if you continue to play while it is being charged since the battery is charged and discharged at the same time. This will affect both the game performance and your phone's battery life in the long run.
Enable High Performance Mode
Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > toggle [High Performance Mode]. On some devices, go to Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [More battery settings] > toggle on [High performance mode]. See OPPO's High Performance Mode.
Note: Enabling High Performance Mode will increase power consumption.
Enable Competitive Mode in Game Space
Activate Competitive Mode in Game Space 2.0 to improve your game performance, frame rate, and touch responsiveness.
Use a fast Internet connection
For online mobile gaming, consider using a fast Internet connection to enjoy smooth and lag-free gaming.
Turn on Force 4x MSAA
The Force 4x option displays the games at the highest possible quality. To turn on Force 4x MSAA, follow the steps below:
1. Go to [Settings] > [About phone] and tap [Build number] for 7 times in a row until you receive a message that you are now a developer.
*On some ColorOS versions, go to [Settings] > [About phone] > [Version] > and tap [Build number] 7 times until prompted āYou are now in Developer modeā.
2. Go to [Settings] > [Additional settings] > [Developer options], depending on the ColorOS version, it might ask you to enter a code. Toggle to green to enable [Developer options] and toggle on [Force 4x MSAA].
Note: Not all phones support Force 4x and enabling this setting can drain your phone battery.
Clean up phone storage
Unused files such as uninstalled apps' cache, old media files, and documents slow down the phone. To improve your phone's performance, find and safely clean them up from your phone's storage. See Clean Storage Space to Free Up Space on OPPO Phone.
Keep your phone's software up-to-date
Being on the latest system keeps your phone's performance at its best.
