How to Sign In to Yahoo App and Allow Less Secure Apps on OPPO?


Do you want to add an email account to the Yahoo Mail app? Email clients such as Outlook and Gmail accounts can be added to the Yahoo Mail app installed on your phone. Follow this article to know how to sign in using a non-Yahoo email client in the Yahoo Mail app.

 

Applicable to: All OPPO smartphones with Yahoo Mail installed.

 

How to Sign in to Yahoo Mail?

For a start, to add a non-Yahoo email app to your Yahoo Mail app, open your Yahoo mail, tap on your image, tap on [Add another mailbox], then choose the one you want to add.

 

Sign in Yahoo Mail with Non-Yahoo Email App

Please follow these suggestions if you are unable to sign in with a non-Yahoo email app.

1. Check if the password you have used is correct.

2. Clear the data/cache of the Yahoo Mail app:

  • For ColorOS 6.1 & above: Go to [Settings]> [App Management] > [App List] > search for  [Yahoo Mail] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data] / [Clear Cache]. You can also long-press the Yahoo Mail App, tap [App info] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data] / [Clear Cache].

  • For ColorOS 5.1 to 6.0: Go to [Settings]> [App Management] > search for  [Yahoo Mail] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data] / [Clear Cache]. You can also long-press the Yahoo Mail App, tap [App info] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data] / [Clear Cache].

  • For ColorOS 3.1 to 5.0: Go to [Settings]> [App Management] > [All] >  [Yahoo Mail] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data] / [Clear Cache].

  • For ColorOS 3.0: Go to [Settings] > [Additional setting] > [Application Management] > [All] > [Yahoo Mail] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data].

  • For ColorOs 2.1: Go to [Settings] > [Application Management] > [All] > [Storage Usage] then tap [Clear data].

3. Check if you can log in using the same credentials using the browser.
4. Uninstall and reinstall the Yahoo Mail application.
5. Restart your phone.
