How to Hide Apps on OPPO Phone's Homescreen
Protecting personal information on your smartphone is increasingly important, especially when multiple apps contain sensitive data. OPPO smartphones offer a built-in feature that allows users to hide applications and secure them with a passcode, preventing unauthorized access. This guide explains how the feature works and provides clear, step-by-step instructions to help you keep selected apps private and secure.
Hide apps in your OPPO phone
Before you can hide the icons on your Home Screen, you MUST set up a privacy passcode in [Settings] > [Fingerprint, Face & Passcode] > [Privacy Passcode] / [Privacy Password] and encrypt the apps.
For ColorOS 13 and above
Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] / [Security and Privacy] > [Privacy] > [Hide apps], then enter the verification passcode > toggle on an app to hide it.
To change the access code: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Privacy] > [Hide apps], then enter the verification passcode > tap on the Settings icon > [Change access code] > enter your desired access code.
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 12
Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Hide apps], then enter the verification passcode to enter the App Lock screen.
Toggle on an app to hide.
A pop-up message will display on the screen to ask you to set an access number. You can open the hidden applications by entering the number on the Phone app. This message will only pop up when you use the hidden feature for the first time. Tap [Set access code].
Set a number that starts and ends with “#” and contains one to sixteen characters (e.g. #123456#), then tap [Done].
Note: Toggling the app to hide will automatically hide the app in Recent Tasks and disable its notifications. You can disable [Hide in recent tasks] and [Block notifications] if you wish to see the app in the recent task and receive the app notifications.
For ColorOS 7.0 to 7.2
Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [App Lock], then enter the verification passcode to enter the App Lock screen.
Tap an app, turn on [App lock], then turn on [Hide from Home screen].
Note: You can also set the hidden app not to display in Recent Tasks or disable its notifications.
Access the hidden apps
On the Home Screen, open the [Phone] app, then tap the keypad to enter your access number (e.g., #123456#), and then the Hidden Apps folder will appear.
Notes:
You can override the encryption passcode and open hidden apps directly by entering the access number.
Apps not displayed in Recent Tasks can be closed using the one-tap cleanup function.
Access numbers need to be set only once when you use the Hide app feature for the first time. You can change the access code in the App Lock or Hide Apps settings if you forget the number.
