Hide Apps Features
ColorOS is packed with features that enhance user privacy and experience. For instance, App Lock enables you to encrypt the installed apps on your phone. ColorOS also offers the option to hide applications on your phone, removing their app icons from the home screen. If you've hidden an application and cannot find it, you can refer to the simple guide below on how to unhide an app.
Applicable to: ColorOS 5.2 and above devices. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone]/ [About Device].
How to access hidden apps
For ColorOS 15 and above:
In ColorOS 15 and above, you will get the app icon for the Hide app feature separately:
You can also customize the Hide app icon by following the below settings:
Open [Hide app] > Click on [Settings] > Click on [Access Method] > Select [Customize Homescreen Icon].
Other Options
Open [Phone/ Dialer] app.
Enter the access code to show hidden apps on your phone. The access code starts and ends with "#".
How to unhide apps on an OPPO phone
Go to [Settings] and tap [Security & Privacy].
Tap [Hide apps] and enter your privacy password.
Disable the apps that you want to unhide.
For ColorOS 11
Go to [Settings] and tap [Privacy].
Tap [Hide apps] and enter your privacy password.
Disable the apps that you want to unhide.
For ColorOS 7
Go to [Settings] and tap [Privacy].
Tap [App Lock] and enter your privacy password.
Select the app that is already hidden.
Disable [Hide Home Screen Icons].
For ColorOS 6 to ColorOS 5.2
Go to [Settings] and tap [Security].
Tap [App Encryption] and enter your app privacy password.
Select the app that is already hidden.
Disable [Hide Home Screen Icons].
Alternatively, you can also follow the below steps:
Go to your OPPO smartphone's [Settings].
Scroll down, and then tap on to [Fingerprint, Face, & Password].
Select [Privacy Password].
Enter your privacy password, and then go to [Hide Apps/ App Lock].
Disable the apps that you want to unhide or select the app then disable [Hide Home screen Icons].
Unable to view hidden apps
If you cannot see the hidden apps by using the access codes in the Phone app, make sure that the Phone by Google app is set as the default phone application. Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Default App] > [Phone] > Choose [Phone] with the blue icon.
Clear the data of System Launcher by going to:
For ColorOS 12 above: [Settings] > [Apps] > [App Management] > Tap the [3 Dots] in the upper right corner > [Show System] > Select [System Launcher] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 7: [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > Tap the [
] in the upper right corner > [Show System] > Select [System Launcher] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 6 to ColorOS 5: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Process] > [System Launcher] > [Storage Usage] > [Clear Data].
If you forgot your access code, you can reset it by following the below steps:
For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 7: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Hide Apps/ App Lock] > Type your privacy password > Tap the two dots on the top right corner > Tap [Settings] > Tap [Change Access Code] > Enter the new access code > [Done].
For ColorOS 6 to ColorOS 5.2: Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [App Lock] > Type your privacy password > Tap the gear icon on the top right corner > Tap [Change Access Number] > Enter the new access code > [Done].
