Performing a force restart on your OPPO smartphone is a practical method for resolving system issues and maintaining overall device performance. Over time, continuous use can lead to memory congestion or unresponsive behavior. A weekly force restart can help clear temporary system files, prevent potential crashes, and promote smoother operation. This guide outlines the steps required to perform a proper force restart, helping you maintain your phone’s stability and efficiency with ease.

Why Force Restart Your OPPO Phone

Here are the reasons why you might try to reconsider force restarting your OPPO smartphone:

  • If your phone is lagging, frozen, or has a delayed reaction.

  • If your phone has a black screen, it won't turn on or be woken.

  • If your phone won't charge.

  • If your phone screen doesn't respond when you touch it.

Note: You can force restart your phone to solve the above issues. A force restart won't erase the content on your phone except those that are broken or invalid.

How to Force Restart Using Hard Reset

1. Firstly, unplug the charger if your phone is connected to a charger.

2. Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for at least 8 seconds until the phone is turned on.

* For some OPPO smartphones, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds

What to Do if I'm Unable to Force Restart My OPPO Phone

  • Check buttons: Check if your phone's Volume and Power buttons are responding properly and are not physically stuck. If it’s stuck, you may need to send the phone to our Service Center for repair.

  • Remove casing: Remove the phone case to prevent the phone buttons from sticking.

  • Charge the phone: Plug your phone into the original charger and let it charge for up to 30 minutes, then try again.

  • Move the phone to a cooler place: Your phone might quickly get warm when the screen is black or frozen. Please place it in a cooler environment and away from direct sunlight to avoid overheating.
