Frequently Asked Questions about Software Update

OPPO releases its phone software updates in phases, one after another testing phases such as Alpha and Beta, to ensure a high-quality software release. Read on to know the common queries and answers related to software update.

1. How long must I wait for my application to be reviewed?

Your application will be reviewed within 5 working days. However, the wait time may vary depending on your phone model. Please monitor announcements in the ColorOS and OPPO communities.

2. Can I roll my system back to the previous version after I upgrade it to ColorOS 11 (based on Android 11)? How do I roll it back?

You can roll your system back. Please visit the nearest OPPO Service Center to have it rolled back. To find the nearest service center, you can go to the OPPO official website, click [Support] > [Service Center] and select your region and city.

Notes:

• The rollback will erase all user data. Please back up important data prior to visiting the Service Centre to avoid data loss.

• To avoid accidental data loss, do not attempt to roll your system back by yourself.

3. Why are the Alpha and Beta versions of ColorOS 11 (based on Android 11) only available to a limited number of users? 

The Alpha and Beta versions are not yet mature and may have bugs or compatibility issues. Therefore, we have decided to only release them to a limited number of users who will provide feedback on their experience. After we have refined the alpha and beta versions, we will release an official version that is available to all users. We appreciate your understanding and support.

4. How long must I wait for the new version after approval?

The version you apply for will be pushed to you within 3 working days of being approved. We appreciate your understanding and support.

5. How long must I wait to get the official version after submitting my application?

After submitting an application for an official version, you can check for it in  [Settings] > [Software Updates]. If the version is available, install it.
