Computer Only Reads Photos When Connected to a Phone

Change the USB connection mode
When you connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable, make sure to pull down the notification panel, tap [Transferring Photos via USB], and then change it to [File transfer]. This method will allow you to transfer files from your computer to your phone and vice versa.
Reconnect the phone to your computer
If you can still only transfer photos after changing the USB connect mode, unplug the phone and reconnect it to the computer and see if you fixed the issue.
Restart and update the phone
Restart the phone, and update it to the latest software version.
