What to Do if Computer Device Cannot Read OPPO USB Driver

Transferring files between your computer and OPPO phone using a USB cable is a quick and efficient way to move data. However, to ensure a successful connection, you may need to enable Developer Mode and USB Debugging. This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to establish a stable connection, troubleshoot any potential issues, and ensure seamless file transfers between your devices.

 

Connecting computer with OPPO phone driver

Connect your OPPO smartphone to your computer by following the steps below:


Step 1: Turn on USB Debugging

Turn on your OPPO smartphone's USB Debugging by following the steps on this link.


Step 2: Turn on the USB Tethering

  • For ColorOS 13 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Connection & sharing] > [Personal hotspot] > enable [USB tethering].

  • For ColorOS 11 to ColorOS 12: Go to [Settings] > [Connection & sharing] > enable [USB tethering].

  • For ColorOS 7 and below: Go to [Settings] > [Other Wireless Connections] > turn on [USB Tethering].

Note: The USB tethering option will be greyed out and unavailable if your OPPO smartphone is not connected to a computer or another device.

The computer cannot read the USB driver

1. Download and install the driver

If your computer cannot read the USB driver, go to your computer and enter [Device Manager] > double-tap your [OPPO smartphone] > [Install the drive from this computer equipment] / [Manually download driver online]. Check if this problem is solved.


2. Check the USB cable

Check your USB cable for signs of damage, like breakage or bent prongs. Try using a different USB cable to check if your computer can detect it.


3. Use another USB Port or computer/PC

Use another USB port to check if the problem can be solved. And if you can, try it with another computer/PC.

4. Restart both the phone and the computer

Please restart the computer & phone and try it again. To reboot the phone, press and hold the Sleep/ Wake button until the "Slide down to power off" message appears. Drag the power icon down to turn off the phone. To turn the phone back on, press and hold the Sleep/ Wake button until you see the OPPO logo.

* In some OPPO smartphones, you have to tap on [Restart] after pressing and holding the Sleep/ Wake button.


5. Turn on the Airplane mode on the computer

If Windows 10 doesn’t recognize your OPPO phone, turn on the Airplane mode on your computer and try. If your computer in Airplane mode recognizes your phone, continue with file transfer and turn off the Airplane mode once complete.


6. Check the phone's software

Make sure the phone software is up to date in [Settings] > [Software Update] / [About device] and then restart the phone.


7. Reset the phone system settings

This option is available with devices ColorOS 3.2 and above. Go to [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Backup and Reset] > [Reset to Factory Settings] > [Reset System Settings Only]. See How to Factory Data Reset Your Phone?


8. Use Bluetooth to Transfer Files on Your OPPO Phone
