Why Isn’t the Lock Screen Clock Style Changing on Your OPPO Phone
If you’ve changed the clock style in your settings but noticed that your lock screen still displays the previous format, you’re not alone. This issue often arises due to a theme compatibility limitation on OPPO devices.
My OPPO Phone's Lock Screen Clock Style Won't Change
This issue is typically caused by the use of a non-default theme. Many downloaded or custom themes include predefined lock screen layouts, which override the system’s clock style settings.
After modifying the clock style via the [Settings] > [Home Screen & Lock Screen] > [Clock Style] path, the lock screen clock remains unchanged, causing confusion among users.
Note: If device's system version is ColorOS 15 or above, please refer to the following path: [Settings] > [Wallpapers & Style] > Tap on the theme> Tap on the clock.
How to Fix this Issue
To ensure your selected clock style appears on the lock screen:
Open [Theme Store], tap [Me] at the bottom of the screen.
Tap [My Resources], In the [Themes] tab, locate the default theme. Tap [Apply] on the default theme.
Once the default theme is active, return to [Settings] > [Home Screen & Lock Screen] > [Clock Style].
Choose your preferred clock style again.
The selected style should now be successfully reflected on your lock screen.
Notes:
This feature limitation applies to all OPPO devices running ColorOS with custom theme capabilities.
Using themes from third-party sources may further affect how system UI elements behave.
