Taking photos is the best way to record the memories we want to keep with us for a lifetime. We can reminisce the moment we had in the picture and feel like it was just yesterday. But if your photos are not showing on your phone's gallery, here are some easy troubleshooting steps we made for you. Check it out below.

The default folders of your pictures in albums

1. Photos taken by camera: [Camera/Pictures].

2. Videos taken by camera: [Videos].

3. Screenshots you captured: [Screenshots].

4. Third-party apps will store pictures in their respective folders. For example, the pictures taken from Facebook will be saved in a photo album named [Facebook].

5. Files received from Bluetooth: [Bluetooth].

6. Recently deleted pictures within 30 days: [Recently Deleted].

* When your photos are saved in the TF/ SD card, connect the TF/ SD card to your computer and check if it is working; if yes, deal with the following instructions.

If you can't preview thumbnail photos in an album

1. Go to [Files]> [DCIM]: Try to look for the photos, if you stored them in [TF/ SD card], then you can search them in TF/ SD card.

2. If you can view these photos in [Files], revise the folders and transfer them into [DCIM]. If you failed to transfer the files, you can try to copy them to the computer. If your photos still can't open on the computer, that means your files have been destroyed.

If the phone alerts you "loading thumbnail photos failed".

1. Update the phone's software and restart the phone.

Go to [Settings] > [System Updates] / [Software Updates] to check and update your phone's software to the latest version. Then, restart the phone.

2. Clear data and cache of camera and photos app.

Clearing the data of the Photos app can make photos load faster. Follow the step below to clear cache for the Photos and Camera apps, then restart your phone.

  • For ColorOS 7 and above: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App list] > [Camera] / [Photos] > [Storage usage] > [Clear data].

  • For ColorOS 5.0 to 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [App management] > [Show system processes] > [Camera] / [Photos] > [Storage usage] > [Clear data].

2. Alter the storage folders.

Try to move photos in the root directory or in TF/SD card.

3. Delete old, unused photos.

Try to permanently delete some photos that you no longer want, then re-enter the album and load photos again.

4. Back up and move photos to alternative storage.

If the storage space is insufficient, back up files to the computer and delete unused ones on your phone to free up more storage space.

5. Reset the phone to its factory settings.

If the problem still persists, back up your phone's data and reset to factory settings.

If the above steps did not resolve the issue, kindly contact OPPO Support Team, or take your phone, proof of purchase, and warranty card to a nearby OPPO Customer Service Center.
