What Are the Camera Settings of OPPO Phones

OPPO phones have mastered creating powerful smartphone cameras that let you capture stunning photos and videos. Understanding the camera settings helps you take full control of your shots. In this guide, we will explore the general camera settings on your OPPO phone to help improve your smartphone photography experience.


Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].

  • The OPPO phone camera settings may vary per model and ColorOS version. Most of the features shown are available for recent ColorOS versions and new phone models. Please refer to the actual product.


Explore OPPO Camera Settings

  • For ColorOS 14 to ColorOS 16: Go to the [Camera] app > tap the [undefined Menu] icon in the upper-right corner, and then tap the [Settings] icon to access more options.

  • For ColorOS 7.1 to ColorOS 13: Go to your OPPO phone's home screen and tap [Camera]. At the upper right corner, tap the *[Menu undefined ] icon or the [three-dotted] icon and tap the [Settings] icon.

    Note: For ColorOS 7.1 and above, the Menu icon may differ, but still the same path.   
  • For ColorOS 6.0 to 6.1: Go to your OPPO phone's home screen and tap [Camera], then at the upper right corner tap the [Settings] icon. 

  • For ColorOS 5.2 and below: Go to [Settings], and tap [Camera].


General

  • Volume button: Set the Volume buttons to function as the volume or zoom controls, or the shutter release.

  • Shutter sound: Make or mute the camera shutter sound when capturing photos.

  • Location: Tag your photos with geo-locations.

  • Flip selfie: The Mirror flips your front-facing camera photos.

  • Fingerprint Shooting: Take photos using the fingerprint sensor.

    Note: Fingerprint shooting is only available for OPPO phones with a fingerprint sensor.   
  • Composition: Make sure your subject is aligned when capturing photos.

  • Advanced Settings: 

    • Show dirty lens warning: You will receive a message prompt when a stain is detected on your camera lens.

    • Quick launch gestures: Quickly open the Camera through the Volume buttons.

    • Quick share & edit: Display shortcuts to share and edit the photo or video you just took


Photo

  • Photo Ratio: Set the screen size to Default 4:3, Square 1:1, full screen, 4:3 Ultra HD & 48 MP.

  • Timer: You can set the timer to 3s, 10s, or none.

  • Touch to Take a Photo: It makes you take a photo by touching the screen.

  • Gesture to Take Photo: This is available for taking Selfies only. Just show your palm to take a photo.

  • Grid: Show grids or lines when taking photos.

  • AI Scene Recognition: Automatically recognizes scenes or subjects.

  • Watermark: Automatically add an OPPO watermark on your photos. You can also add a Photographer's name. 

  • HDR: High Dynamic Range Photos lets you capture greater detail from bright and dark areas in your photos.

  • Filters: This makes your photos look amazing with various effects.

 

Video

  • Video Resolution: Choose from 4K, 1080P, or 720P. You can also choose the frame rate from 60 fps or 30 fps.

  • Slow-motion Video Resolution: Choose between 1080P or 720P.

  • Video Encoding: You can choose the best coding compatibility. 

  • Audio Effects: You can find a 3D recorder, Sound Focus, and Reduce Wind Noise.

 

How to Restore Camera Settings to Default

Restore your OPPO phone's Camera Settings to the default by tapping [Restore defaults] / [Restore Camera Settings] / [Restore to Defaults]. 


Note:

  • You can't change the file size or the resolution of the photo produced by the Camera application. You will have to download a third-party application to change the file size and resolution.

  • The availability of the SLO-MO feature varies per phone model. Please refer to the actual product.
