Videos Keep Pausing Automatically on OPPO Phone
Were you watching a video from a pre-installed or third-party video app such as YouTube, and it suddenly paused? An unstable internet connection, malicious or corrupted third-party video apps, or video apps that have occupied the audio focus might be causing the video to pause automatically. Read on to learn how to fix this issue.
What to do if videos keep pausing
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can do if your videos keep pausing:
Check your Internet connection
Use a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection or mobile data to stream videos.
Check for recently installed video apps
Check if your phone has installed any video apps recently which might be causing this issue. Uninstall any suspicious app from your phone.
For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App management] and tap the [3-dotted] icon in the upper right corner > [Show system]
Check if any new video application has been installed.
For ColorOS 7.0 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap the [
2-dots] icon in the upper right corner > [Show System] and check if any new video application has been installed.
Clear the cache
Clearing the cache depends on the video player you are using. Please follow the path below.
For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App Management] > [3-dotted] icon > [Show System] > [*The Video App you are using] > [Storage usage] > [Clear Data].
For ColorOS 7.0 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [App List] > tap
Icon > [Show System] > [*The Video App you are using] > [Storage usage] > [Clear Data].
Restart your phone
Restart your phone so all apps that are not needed will stop running.
Press and hold the Power button until the slide-down to power off message appears. Drag or tap the power icon down to turn off the phone.
To turn the phone back on, press and hold the Power button until you see the OPPO logo. After this, try to play a video that you have on your device and one that won't be needing an Internet connection.
Clean up the storage cache
For ColorOS 7.0 to ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Tools] folder > [Phone Manager] > [Clean Up Storage] > [Clean].
* Depending on the ColorOS version, some will show [Clean] / [Clear All] / [Clean Up] on the setting path but is the same function.
Uninstall and re-install the video app
If the steps above did not fix the concern, uninstall the application, and reinstall it back again from the Play Store or App Market.
Perform software update
Check if your phone has an available update. Go to [Settings] > [Software Update] / [System Update] / [About Device].
Reset your OPPO phone to factory settings
Back up and transfer the data on your phone first, then reset your phone will go back to its initial state and settings. See How to Factory Reset an OPPO Phone.
