Troubleshooting Guide for Heating

Confirm the situation when the heating happened
2.1Heating when standby
(1)Check whether the ambient temperature while charging is similar to the ambient temperature; the phone will get heat when the ambient temperature is relatively high, and the phone’s temperature will get close to
(2)Please suggest the customer clean the Apps in the background, since the fault may result from massive Apps running in the background.
(3)If the phone gets heat still, please suggest the customer backup all the data and keep it standby for a while;
(4)If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;
(5)After receiving the faulty phone, the service center firstly handles the fault according to the above steps; if the fault still recurs, test whether the heating part is in the reasonable range(similar to the ambient temperature)
(6)If the heating of the phone has been confirmed, flash the phone for the customer;
(7)If the fault still cannot be solved, please reassemble the phone to check if the heating results from the mistaken assembly;
(8)Check whether there is electric leakage with the mainboard ;( Check method: 1. disassemble the mainboard, and connect it to the DC supply with 3.9v-4.2v. 2. If the current value is greater than 4mA, the mainboard is with electric leakage) ; If is, replace the mainboard for the customer;
(9)If the fault cannot be solved still, please send the feedback to OPPO China HQ and keep the faulty phone.
2.2Heating when using
(1)If the protective case has been used for the phone, please suggest the customer remove the protective case and keep it standby for a while since the heating radiating may be interfered by the protective case;
(2)If the phone has been operated for a long time, the processor will generate heats; the temperature of the phone below 50 degree Celsius will be taken as in the normal range;
Please suggest the customer clean the Apps in the background, since the fault may result from massive Apps running in the background;
(3)Check whether WI-FI, Bluetooth and GPS has been opened for a long time; If they have, please close unnecessary functions and keep it standby;
(4)Check whether the brightness of the screen has been set to the highest; If it has, please lower the brightness and standby the phone for a while;
(5)Check whether live wallpapers have been used since the live wallpapers will cause the phone to get heat; If live wallpapers have been used, suggest the customer use the original theme/wallpaper in Settings and keep it standby for a while;
(6)If the phone gets heat still, please suggest the customer backup all the data and reset the phone;
(7)If the problem cannot be solved, suggest the customer bring the Purchase Invoice, Warranty Card and the phone to the nearest OPPO customer service center for further detection and repair;
(8)If the heating of the phone has been confirmed, flash the phone for the customer;
(9)If the fault still cannot be solved, please reassemble the phone to check if the heating results from the mistaken assembly;
(10)Check whether there is electric leakage with the mainboard ;( Check method: 1. disassemble the mainboard, and connect it to the DC supply with 3.9v-4.2v. 2. If the current value is greater than 4mA, the mainboard is with electric leakage) ; If is, replace the mainboard for the customer;
(11)If the fault cannot be solved still, please send the feedback to OPPO China HQ and keep the faulty phone.
2.3Heating when charging
(1)If the customer uses the phone while charging, suggest that the customer do not use the phone and clean the background while charging and observe the charging condition in standby;
(2)Confirm whether the original adapter and USB cable have been used. If not, suggest the customer use the original adapter and USB cable for charging;
(3)If the fault cannot be solved still, please troubleshoot the fault by following the steps in “Heating when using”.
