Smart Way to Merge Contacts on OPPO Phone
After many years of purchasing and using different phones, you may notice that your same contacts have been duplicated. This can look messy and often cause confusion when trying to look in your contacts app. Before you start, make sure that the contacts you wish to merge have the same name. To clean your contacts, let's try to merge the contacts using these easy steps! Read on!
Note: Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone]/ [About Device].
Merge contacts
You can merge the duplicate contacts (with the same name) on your OPPO phone contacts list. When you add a similar contact to your phone contacts, it will automatically prompt you if you want to merge the contacts. Once merged, the contact will display the information of the duplicate contact.
How to merge contacts on the OPPO Phone app
Note: The steps below are for users with the OPPO Phone application.
For ColorOS 7.0 and above: Go to the [
Phone] app > [Contacts] tab > tap the [
2-dots] icon in the upper right corner > [Settings] > [Merge Duplicate Contacts] and select the contacts you want to merge and tap [Merge].
For ColorOS 5.0 to ColorOS 6.1: Go to the [
For ColorOS 3.0 to ColorOS 3.2: Go to the [Settings] app > [Contacts] > [Merge Duplicate Contacts] and select the contacts you want to merge and tap [Merge].
How to merge contacts on Google Contacts
For some OPPO devices with the default Google Contacts application as their contact list- merging duplicate contacts with the same name is also possible through the steps below.
On your phone, open the [Contacts] application and tap [Fix & manage] > [Merge & fix], then tap *[Merge duplicates].
To merge a single duplicate contact, tap [Merge].
To merge all the duplicate contact suggestions, tap [Merge All].
Note: *If this option is not appearing on your end, you do not have a contact to merge.
