Security Vulnerability on Android Devices
Situation: You heard that Android users may be exposed to a security vulnerability.
Applicable to: Android 9.0 and earlier. Check your Android version in [Settings] > [About Phone].
The vulnerability is called StrandHogg 2.0 which could access your personal data like messages, photos, location, logins, or could even spy using the camera and microphone of your device.
How does it work?
It clones or mirrors real apps. When a real app is tapped, a malicious login page is displayed on the screen, tricking victims into providing personal information.
How to prevent security vulnerability?
Please make sure your phone has updated the Android Security Patch that started last May 2020.
How to check if your device has updated the security level patch?
Go to [Settings] > [About Phone] > [Android Version].
Add on to fully protect your phone from security vulnerability:

Make sure that your software is up to date from [Settings] > [Software Updates]. For a secure connection, best to use mobile data and home Wi-Fi.
