Notice about Replacing A33’s External Gold Keys (Volume key and Power key) V2

1. Background

There is fracture and falling out issue with A33’s volume key and power key according to the feedback from some regions. 

2. Reason

There is a batch of gold keys that are easier to fracture and fall out;

3. Solution

3.1 Replacing key material code:

      Replace volume key code “2925666” with code “2925799”, and power key code “2925665” with code“2925798”.

3.2 Stock disposal plan for A33 keys in service centers:

       After the arrival of new keys, all the old keys should be scrapped; in the case of new materials not arrived, temporarily replace the old stock keys for users.

3.3 Whatever A33 that the user sends to repair is out of warranty or not, all the volume keys and the power keys should be replaced together and charged for free.

3.4 Record requirement

       Record “IW” in the “good type” and “defective type” column when the repair order is about replacing keys. Repair the defective material to record the old key material code 2925666 or 2925665, and repair the new button code 2925799 or 2925798.

3.5 Record the following descriptions in the “Maintenance Type”: 

       3.5.1 Software upgrade: select "IW" in the "Maintenance type", fill the original information in the “fault name” and “fault cause” are filled in according to the original form, and fill “A33 key’s fault” in the "Quality Record”.
       3.5.2 Repair in Warranty: select “IW” in “Maintenance type” and the original fault information in the “fault name” and “fault cause”. Select “Replace the material” in the "Solution", and fill “A33 key’s fault” in the "Quality Record”.
       3.5.3 Repair out of warranty: select "IW + OOW" in the "Maintenance type"(the keys will be IW, and other parts to repair are OOW). The original fault information in the “fault name” and “fault cause”. Select “Replace the material” in the "Solution", and fill “A33 key’s fault” in the "Quality Record”.

3.6 Keys that have been replaced once, repaired for the second time, do not need to be replaced if the key is not defective; if the key is damaged artificially, the replacement of keys needs to be charged and should be recorded according to the normal process.
