Screenshot allows us to capture a photo of the display of a device. With ColorOS you get multiple options to capture the screenshot, edit it and smart ways to fetch data from the screenshot. Smart AI features like Auto pixelate, Smart Information Extract, and Screen translate allow you to translate the data on screen, pixelate sensitive information or copy text and images from a screenshot. Follow the article below to learn more about screenshots.


Applicable to: ColorOS 14. Check your ColorOS in [Settings] > [About Device].


Ways to Capture Screenshots

  • 3-finger swipe down gesture - Swipe down with 3 fingers to capture a screenshot

  • Power and volume down key - Tap the power and volume down key to capture


  • Smart Sidebar - Open the Smart sidebar and select [Screenshot]. You can enable the Smart Sidebar from [Settings] > [Special feature] > [Smart Sidebar]. 


Types of Screenshot

  • Long screenshot- Touch and hold with 3 fingers and swipe to the bottom edge of the device to take a long screenshot


  • Partial screenshot- You can take partial screenshots with 2 methods:-

      1. Touch and hold with 3 fingers then drag on the screen to select a region to capture

      2. Touch and hold with 3 fingers, partial screenshot options will appear then drag your finger to select the area on the screen to capture a partial screenshot


Features in Screenshot

  • Intelligent Information Extract - Intelligent Information Extract allows you to copy text and images from a screenshot.

    • Steps: Capture the screenshot > Select the [information extract] under preview. Click here to learn more about the information extract

  • Auto Pixelate - Auto Pixelate protect the sensitive information in your screenshots, pixelating names, avatars and other personal details with one tap.

    • Steps: Capture the screenshot and tap for preview > Select [Pixelate] > tap [Auto]. Click here to learn more about Auto Pixelate 


  • Screenshot Translation - . You can quickly translate screenshots when reading documents or chatting with foreign friends without copying and pasting the text into a translator

How to Edit Screenshots

Capture the screenshot and tap on the floating preview to doodle on the screenshot, pixelate it, add text, rotate it, crop it, apply or delete it.
