Battery Safety
OPPO smartphones use Lithium-ion batteries. These batteries offer lightweight power and high energy density, along with flexibility and enhanced safety. We use Lithium-ion batteries to ensure OPPO smartphones work efficiently and safely.
Use Official OPPO Accessories
Lithium-ion batteries are smart but may not charge fully or achieve their maximum lifespan if charged with non-official chargers (including adapters and USB cables).
Use at Suitable Temperatures
OPPO smartphone batteries are designed to perform well across various environmental temperatures. However, the ideal range is 16°C to 25°C (61°F to 77°F). High temperatures during charging can reduce battery quality, and charging above 40°C can impact performance. On the other hand, in cold conditions, internal resistance may increase, causing slower charging and longer charge times.
If you use your phone in extremely cold environments, you may notice reduced battery life—but this is temporary. Once the battery temperature returns to normal, performance will stabilize.
Note: To prevent battery damage, OPPO smartphones will automatically stop charging or usage at unsafe temperatures and will display a warning like “Temperature too low/high, unable to charge the battery” or “Battery fully charged, cannot continue charging.”
Avoid Using Your Phone While Charging
Heavy use during charging can heat up the phone quickly or even cause damage. Charge your phone any time you need to, but it’s best not to wait until it reaches 0% before recharging.
Don’t Let the Battery Drain Completely
Charge your phone once the battery drops to 10%. Fully draining the battery could lead to a deep discharge state, which can slightly damage the battery.
Long-Term Storage Tips
If you plan to store your phone for a long time, charge it to around 60% or higher once a month.
Environmental Factors
Avoid exposing your phone battery to extreme heat or cold, humidity, or direct sunlight.
Charging Precautions
Only use chargers specified by OPPO.
Charging voltage must match what's specified on the charger. Using incorrect voltage can cause leaks, fire, or damage.
Avoid incompatible power outlets. Ensure the charger is firmly connected to prevent fire hazards.
Don’t charge with damaged chargers, as this could cause electric shock, fire, or other damage.
Avoid charging near sinks, water containers, or humid places like bathrooms. Don’t spill food or liquids on your phone or charger. Don’t touch the charger, cable, or outlet with wet hands. If the charger gets wet, unplug it and let it dry completely before reusing.
Do not disassemble or modify the charger or cable yourself.
Avoid placing heavy objects on the charger as it could cause electric shocks or fire.
Unplug all cables before cleaning the charger (hold and pull the plug, not the cable, to avoid damage).
Do not charge your phone during lightning storms. Also, avoid making phone calls while charging.
Keep the charger away from direct sunlight, temperatures below 5°C or above 40°C, humid and dusty areas, high-vibration environments, and electronic devices like TVs or radios (which may interfere with image and sound).
