How to Set Default SIM for Call & Text in OPPO/ Android Phone
If your OPPO phone has the dual SIM feature, it can make things easier by setting a default SIM for making or receiving calls, sending messages, or using mobile data. Below, we have provided a simple step-by-step guide for you to follow.
Note: Check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].
Set default SIM for calling
Go to [Settings] > [Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data]. Under DEFAULT CARD SETTINGS, tap [Call] / [Calling], then tap your preferred SIM to set the default SIM for calls.
Note: For phone calls, you can choose between SIM 1, SIM 2, or Always Ask. If you select Always Ask, the device always asks you to choose the SIM from which you want to initiate a phone call.
Set default SIM for SMS/Messages
Setting a default SIM for SMS or messages can only be set when sending a message. For instance, if you're sending an SMS to the same people, the Messaging app itself will use the SIM card you used before as a default. On the other hand, if you send a message to a new one using SIM1, SIM1 will be set as default. If you use SIM2 to send/receive a message, SIM2 will now be the default.
Set default SIM for mobile data
Go to [Settings] > [Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Mobile Network] / [Dual SIM & Cellular] / [SIM Card & Mobile Data]. Under DEFAULT CARD SETTINGS, tap [Internet] / [Mobile data] to set the default SIM for mobile data connection.
