How to Set a Custom Ringtone on Your OPPO Device
You might know how to set ringtones in your OPPO phone as your OPPO phone comes with many cool ringtones stored inside it but, what if you want to know how to set a song as a ringtone or an mp3 file you have downloaded? It's easy, you can either use the music player to set your favourite song as the ringtone or apply it from the ringtone settings in the sound & vibration section. The article below will show you how you can set a local music file as the phone ringtone.
Applicable to: ColorOS 5.2 and above device. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone/About Device].
Set a song as a ringtone
From settings
Go to [Settings] and tap [Sound & Vibration].
Tap [Ringtone] and allow permission if asked. It allows you to select a ringtone from the internal storage
Tap [Select from files/On this device] > Select the music file to set it as your ringtone.
Note: If you cannot see any files after selecting "select from files". This is because no supported music files are stored on your phone. Make sure the music files are downloaded and stored in your phone storage. It is recommended to use files of smaller sizes as ringtones.
From music player
Open [Music] app.
Tap "
" beside the song you want to set the ringtone.
Select [Set as Ringtone] > and select the ringtone category like alarm, caller ringtone, SMS & contact ringtone. SMS and contact ringtones are available in ColorOS 5.2 and ColorOS 11 and above devices only.
Note: If you cannot see your ringtone file in the music list, then it might be hidden because it is less than 200kb or less than 60 seconds. You can enable them to appear in the music list by tapping [Music] > Tap " or "
" at the top right corner > Tap [Scan local songs] > Disable both [Skip songs under 60 secs & Skip songs smaller than 100 KB]. You can also select the folder where your music file is stored by tapping [Scan specified folders].
