Prolonged smartphone use can strain your eyes over time, leading to discomfort or fatigue. To help minimize these effects, OPPO phones include several features designed to protect your vision during daily use. In this guide, you’ll learn practical ways to reduce eye strain and maintain healthy viewing habits while using your OPPO device.

Note: The availability of the features may depend on the model and the ColorOS version. Please refer to the actual product or check your phone's ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].

Simple Habits and Features to Keep Your Eyes Comfortable

Your smartphone is part of your daily routine, but continuous use can take a toll on your vision. Fortunately, a few mindful habits and phone settings can help reduce strain. From adjusting brightness to using OPPO’s eye protection tools, these methods can make a noticeable difference in keeping your eyes comfortable throughout the day.

Dark Mode

Dark mode helps reduce eye strain by minimizing the amount of bright light emitted from your screen, making it easier on your eyes in low-light environments. You can enable dark mode on your OPPO phone in two different ways:

  • Control Center: Swipe down from the very top of the screen to open the Control Center and tap the [Dark mode] icon.

  • Settings: Go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness] and toggle or tap [Dark mode] to turn on/off.

Enable Eye Care/Eye Comfort

The Eye Care or Eye Comfort feature helps protect your vision by filtering out blue light from the screen. Blue light can cause eye strain and disrupt sleep patterns, especially when using your phone at night. Enabling this feature creates a warmer screen tone that’s gentler on your eyes during extended use. There are two ways to enable Eye care/Eye comfort:

  • Control Center: Swipe down from the very top of the screen to open the Control Center and tap the [Eye care]/ [Eye Comfort] icon.

  • Settings: Go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness] and toggle or tap [Eye care]/ [Eye Comfort] to turn on/off.

Note: If you can't see the Dark mode and the Eyecare/Eye comfort icons in your Control Center, see Customise your OPPO Control Center!.

Enable OSIE (Object and Semantic Images and Eye-tracking) Visual Effects

OSIE (Object and Semantic Images and Eye-tracking) is an AI-powered visual enhancement feature that optimizes on-screen images based on how you view them. By intelligently adjusting contrast, color, and brightness according to your eye movement, OSIE helps create a more natural viewing experience, reducing visual fatigue during extended phone use.

Enable Grayscale

Grayscale mode changes your screen display to shades of gray, removing all colors. This visual change can help reduce phone dependency, as studies suggest that the absence of bright, stimulating colors makes your device less engaging to look at. By turning your screen gray, you may feel less tempted to check your phone frequently, promoting healthier screen habits.

Enable Focus mode

Focus Mode, found under Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls, helps you minimize distractions by pausing selected apps and silencing their notifications. When enabled, it allows you to concentrate on tasks without interruptions from social media, games, or other attention-grabbing apps—promoting healthier and more mindful phone use.
