Hard reset your OPPO smartphone

Performing a hard reset on your OPPO phone means initiating a system boot via Recovery Mode or ColorOS Recovery. It's important to note that a hard reset will completely erase all content on your phone and restore it to its original factory settings. To avoid losing important data, back up your information to an external drive or cloud before proceeding with a hard reset. If you forget your phone's lock screen password and cannot back up your data, you may experience data loss. To hard reset your OPPO smartphone, follow the steps provided below.

Note:

1. If your phone still working, back up your data before hard resetting.

2. If the battery of the device is 40% or below. Please connect your charger to the phone.

3. The process will take 3-5 mins to update. Do not try to turn off your phone during the operation.

Step 1: Turn Off Your OPPO Phone

Turn off your OPPO phone by pressing and holding the Power button for more than 3 seconds.

Step 2: Enter Recovery Mode

Press and hold both the Power and Volume Down buttons and release them when the OPPO logo appears. Then select language.

Step 3: Hard Reset Your OPPO Phone

Perform the following steps according to your Android version:

• Android 12 and above: [Format data] > enter verification code to format > [Format].

• Android 11: [Wipe data] > [Format data] > enter verification code to format > [Format].

• Android 10: [Wipe data] > enter verification code > choose [Wipe data (retain contacts, messages, and photos)] or [Format data] > [Clear] / [Format].

Wait for the wipe data to complete and tap [OK]. The device will reboot and restore to its factory state. You can now begin to set up your device and restore the backup you made to the device.
