How to Fix Delayed Email Notifications on OPPO Phone
Not receiving email notifications in real-time can be frustrating, especially when it's an important one. There are various reasons why your email notification gets delayed, including network issues or the email filtering system. We listed below some troubleshooting steps if your email notification gets delayed on your OPPO phone.
Troubleshoot delayed email notification
Check the Internet connection
Ensure the phone is connected to the Internet and has a stable connection.
Check the device for software update
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] / [About Device] to check and update your phone's software to the latest version.
Check if the email application is up to date
Open [Play Store] > [Profile icon] > [Manage apps & device] > [Updates available] and look for the email application, then tap [Update].
Enter correct server settings for work emails
For work emails, make sure to enter the correct server settings when you manually setup the email on the phone. If unsure, contact your local IT.
Allow all permissions of the email app
Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Processes] > select the email application > [Permissions] and toggle on all permissions.
In some OPPO device: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App management] > select the email application > [Permissions] and toggle on all permissions.
Toggle on Auto Startup
Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Processes] > select the email application and toggle on [Auto Startup].
Allow the email app to run in the background
Go to [Settings] > [App Management] > [Show System Processes] > select email app > [Power Saver] and select [Allow Running In The Background].
In some OPPO device: Go to [Settings] > [Apps] > [App management] > select the email application > [Data usage] and toggle [Background data].
Lock the app in the background
Tap the Multi-task or Recent task key
and swipe down to lock the app in the background.
For ColorOS 6.0 and above, tap the [Menu
] icon above a task and tap [Lock].
Restart the phone
Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons for at least 8 seconds until the phone is turned on.
For some OPPO smartphones, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds
Remove and re-add the email account
Go to [Settings] > [Accounts and Sync] / [User & accounts] > tap your email address, then tap the icon in the upper-right > [Remove account] and tap [Remove account] again to confirm. See How to Remove Google Account on OPPO Phone.
Clear the email app data and cache

Uninstall and reinstall the email app (for third-party apps).
