Why is the Side Button Fingerprint Unlock Not Working
If your side button fingerprint unlock is insensitive or not working, follow this guide to diagnose and fix the issue.
Common Causes of Fingerprint Unlock Issues
The side-mounted fingerprint sensor on OPPO devices may become unresponsive due to various reasons, including dirty fingerprints, improper registration, or incorrect settings.
Check Fingerprint Condition
Ensure that the fingerprint you registered is clean and free from oil, sweat, or dirt, as these can reduce recognition accuracy.
Re-register Your Fingerprint Correctly
If unlocking is slow or fails frequently, try deleting and re-entering your fingerprint.
Avoid scanning only a small portion of your finger.
Capture multiple angles to improve accuracy.
Disable "Firm Touch" Setting
Some OPPO devices have a Firm Touch feature, which activates the power button and triggers the anti-mistouch function, potentially interfering with fingerprint unlocking.
To fix this:
Go to [Settings] > [Password & Security] > [Fingerprint] > [Screen-off Unlock] > Select "Light Touch"
This ensures the fingerprint sensor works with a light touch instead of requiring a firm press.
Update Your Device
Check for the latest software updates:
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates]
Install any available updates to enhance fingerprint recognition performance.
