Note: Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone] / [About Device].

Fix the OPPO phone speaker with no sound

There could be many reasons that are causing your OPPO smartphone's speaker to stop working. It could be outdated software or a damaged speaker. Proceed to the following paths presented.

Check your sound settings

  • For ColorOS 5.0 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Sound & vibration], and under VOLUME, you can separately set the ringer volume, media volume, and alarm volume to the maximum.

  • For ColorOS  3.1 and 3.2: Go to [Settings] > [Sound & Vibration] > [Volume], and then you can separately set the ringer volume and Media volume to the maximum.

  • For ColorOS 3.0: Go to [Settings] > [Sound & Vibration]  > [Ringtone Adjustment] and then set the ringer to the maximum.

Turn off Do Not Disturb / Quiet Time

Go to [Settings] > [Sound & vibration] > and check if [Do Not Disturb], [Quiet Time], and [Silent mode] option is turned off. If not, toggle the button to turn it off.

Check the third-party app sound settings

If you don't hear sound only in one particular application, check the app’s sound settings and see if you have set the app sound on mute or turned down the app volume.

Clean the phone speaker

Check if the phone speaker is clogged or dirty, and gently clean the speaker with a clean, soft-bristled brush.

Remove phone case

Ensure nothing is blocking the speaker, such as a phone case or your fingers. The metal phone case can affect the degree of cell phone signal reception. Remove the phone case or screen protector that might block the speaker, then test again. To avoid this issue, we encourage using official smartphone accessories from OPPO. Know more about them here OPPO Screen Protector and OPPO Phone Case.

Check the connected accessories

If your OPPO phone is connected to a headset, make sure it is plugged in firmly.

If a Bluetooth headset is connected, go to [Settings] > [Bluetooth] > under paired devices, check the current headset you are using > tap on the [i] icon > [Unpair] > under Available devices, look for the headset you just disconnected, tap on it > [Pair].
