What to Do When You Can’t Search for Available Wi-Fi Networks
If your OPPO device can't find or search for available Wi-Fi networks, don't worry, you're in the right place! This issue often comes from simple settings errors, temporary software glitches or router problems that can make the Wi-Fi temporary unavailable. Follow this guide to learn how to fix this issue to restore your connection and get your device detecting networks in no time.
How to Fix When No Wi-Fi Networks Are Found
Step 1: Remove Any Phone Coverings:
Check if your phone is using a plated, metal, or magnetic protective case and see if the issue resolves.
Step 2: Turn On and Off Airplane Mode:
Turning Airplane Mode on and off can help resolve Wi-Fi glitches by forcing the device to reset all wireless connections.
Slide from the top of the screen to open the Control Center and locate the
[Airplane Mode] icon and tap to turn on/off.
Or go to [Settings] > [Airplane Mode] and tap the slider to turn it on. In some OPPO devices, go to [Settings] > [Connection & sharing] and toggle [Airplane mode] to turn on/off.
Step 3: Restart Your Phone:
Restarting your OPPO phone helps to clear temporary software glitches and reset network settings.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, and then drag the slider up. Alternatively, press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.
Step 4: Reset Network and System Settings
Try resetting your device's system settings and Bluetooth settings, then turn Wi-Fi back on to see if the issue is resolved.
For ColorOS 14.1 to ColorOS 16.0 and above: Go to [Settings] > [System & Updates] > [Back up & reset] > [Reset Phone] > [Reset network and Bluetooth settings].
For ColorOS 12 to ColorOS 14.0: Go to [Settings] > [System Settings] / [Additional settings] > [Reset Phone] > tap on [Reset network settings].
For ColorOS 6.0 to ColorOS 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Additional settings] > [Backup and Reset] > [Reset to Factory Settings] / [Erase all data (factory reset)] > [Reset system settings only].
Note: Resetting the network and Bluetooth settings will not erase your data, but it will clear saved wireless network configurations. This includes previously saved Wi-Fi networks, which will require reconnecting and re-entering passwords. Paired Bluetooth devices will also need to be re-paired.
When Only Certain Wi-Fi Networks Are Unavailable
Step 1: Unhide the Network in Your Router Settings
The Wi-Fi network may be hidden or operating on a frequency band your device doesn't support. To fix this, unhide the network in your router settings or switch the Wi-Fi frequency band. Moreover, if your phone only supports 2.4 GHz, it won’t detect 5 GHz hotspots. For additional help, you can contact your network provider or router customer support.
Step 2: Restart Your Router
Restarting your Wi-Fi router for about 30 seconds and turning it back on is one of the simplest ways to resolve Wi-Fi detection issues. Please refer to your network provider on how to restart your router.
If the abovementioned steps do not fix your concern, prepare your warranty card and contact your nearest OPPO Customer Service. You can also contact OPPO Support so we can help and assist you further with your concern.
