What Is Smart Charging
Many of us charge our phones overnight while we sleep to ensure they stay powered throughout the day. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s safe to leave your phone on the charger all night, you’re not alone! Your OPPO phone uses a lithium-ion battery, which can lose effectiveness over time due to factors such as charging habits, the type of charger used, and the temperature during charging. However, with ColorOS 11, there’s good news! We’ve introduced a new feature called “Optimized Night Charging” (or Smart Charging) that helps protect your battery’s health. To learn how to make the most of your OPPO phone’s battery life, check out the article below!
Applicable to: ColorOS 11 and above. Check your ColorOS version in [Settings] > [About Phone/About Device].
Note: Feature availability may vary by device model.
What is Optimized Night Charging
Optimized night charging, also referred to as AI night charging uses AI algorithms to learn your sleeping pattern such as when you sleep and when you wake up. It will take some days to learn your sleeping pattern. After that, it optimizes battery charge to reach 100% exactly at AI-determined morning wake time. Protects battery lifespan due to repeated charging between 80% and 100%.
How to Enable Optimized Night Charging
For ColorOS 13 and Above:
Devices without Battery Health engine:- Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Smart Charging] > Select [At night].
Devices with Battery Health engine: Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Battery health] > Select [Optimised charging/Smart charging] > Select [At night]
For ColorOS 11 to 12:
You can enable the Optimized Night Charging feature by going to [Settings] > [Battery] > [More battery settings/Advanced settings] > Enable [Optimized Night Charging].
