What is Glide Typing in Gboard?

 

Situation: You want to enable the Glide typing function in Gboard.

Applicable to: All OPPO Smartphones.

The Glide typing feature in Gboard allows you to type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter.

To enable Glide typing, on the keyboard, tap the Settings icon > [Glide typing] and toggle on [Enable glide typing]. Alternatively, on the home screen, tap [Settings] > [Additional Settings] > [Keyboard & Input Method] > [Gboard] > [Glide typing].

 

 

You can also enable the other 3 options if preferred:

• Show gesture trail: Display a blue line as your finger moves across the keyboard.

• Enable gesture delete: Delete words by sliding left from the delete key.

• Enable gesture cursor control: Move cursor by sliding across space bar.

 

To start using Glide typing, swipe through the letters to input a word.
