While the YouTube app doesn't offer a built-in feature to completely block advertisements, it does provide options for managing your ad experience. Read on to know more.

Understanding personalized ads

Instead of directly blocking ads, you can personalize them through your Google Ads Settings. This allows you to influence the types of advertisements you see based on your interests and browsing activity.

How to enable personalized ads

  1. Launch the YouTube app and tap on your profile picture in the upper/lower right corner. Select [Settings] from the menu.

  2. Within the Settings menu, locate and tap on [Your data in Youtube].

  3. Scroll all the way down to Personalized ads and tap on [Personalized ads].

Notes

  • Enabling personalized ads doesn't eliminate all advertisements, but it tailors them to your potential interests, potentially making them more relevant.

  • While some third-party solutions may claim to block ads entirely, it's important to exercise caution. OPPO recommends using only official app stores to download applications and staying vigilant against unreliable sources.

  • Consider exploring YouTube Premium, a subscription service that offers ad-free viewing alongside other benefits.
