Store Files and Images with OPPO Private Safe
The Private Safe is a secure way to protect your important files, such as pictures, videos, documents, and other data. To access the Private Safe, you need to enter a passcode to ensure that your files are secure. Before proceeding, please make sure that you have either linked your email to your account or set up a security question as a recovery method. This way, it will allow you to recover your password if you forget it for your Private Safe/File Safe. How to Use OPPO's Private Safe for Storing Files and Images

Go to [Settings] > [Password & security] > [Privacy password]. Select the password type and enter your desired password, you can choose between [Numeric], [Pattern], and [Alphanumeric]. You will also be asked a security question as an added layer of security for your privacy. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the process.
Manage files on the Private Safe
To access your OPPO phone's Private Safe, go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Private safe] > enter your privacy password > tap any of the folders (Images and videos, Audio, Documents, Other files) and tap [+] on the bottom-right to add files. Select the files you want to make private and tap the [✓] or [Set as private].
Create a shortcut on your home screen for easy access
Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Private Safe] > enter your password and at the upper right corner, tap the [three-dotted line] icon > [Settings] and toggle [Home Screen icon] > and tap [ADD] or touch and hold the Private Safe icon to place it manually on the home screen.
Remove Private Safe from home screen
Tap and hold Private Safe icon and tap [Remove] > [Remove].

Enter your desired password or use different encryption method. You will also be asked a security question as an added layer of security for your privacy. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the process.

For ColorOS 11 to 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Private Safe] > enter the privacy password you set. For ColorOS 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Private Safe] > enter the privacy password you set. Tap any of the folders (Photos, Audio, Documents, Other) and tap the [+] at the top-right to add files. Select the files you want to make private and tap [Done].

For ColorOS 7 to 11.3: Go to [Settings] > [Privacy] > [Private Safe] > enter your password and at the upper right corner, tap the [two-dotted line] > [Settings] and toggle [Home Screen Shortcut] / [Home screen icon] to enable and touch and hold the Private Safe icon or tap [Add].
For ColorOS 6 to 6.1: Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Private Safe] > enter your password and at the upper right corner, tap the Settings icon > and toggle on [Home Screen Shortcut] and tap [Add].
Remove Private Safe from home screen
Press and hold the Private Safe app and tap [Remove].
Note: We understand how important the data you have saved on the Private Safe/ File Safe is, and not being able to access it can be frustrating. However, for privacy concerns, OPPO does not store personal/ private data, like passwords.

How to Use OPPO's Private Safe for Storing Files and Images
You need to set up a Privacy passcode before using Private Safe. Go to [Settings] > [Fingerprint, face & passcode] > [Lockscreen passcode] and enter your desired password or use different encryption method.
There are four Encryption Methods available for Private Safe
Pattern Code
4-Digit Numeric Passcode
4-16 Digit Numeric Passcode
4-16 Digit Alphanumeric Passcode
Create a shortcut of Private Safe on the home screen
Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Private Safe] and enter a passcode for your private safe then enable [Homescreen Shortcut]. If you are using a fingerprint lock, this can also open Private Safe.
Move files to Private Safe
Go to [Settings] > [Security] > [Private Safe] > enter the privacy password you set, then tap the folders (Photos, Audio, Documents, Other) and tap [Import files/Import photos]. Select the files you want to make private and tap [Done].
You can also go to [Files Manager] on the home screen and choose a file, then tap [More] and tap [Add to Private Safe] to move the file to Private Safe.
Move out or delete files from Private Safe
Select the file you want to delete, then [Set as Public] or [Delete] to move them out.
If the encrypted files cannot be found in Private Safe.
Check if the file remains in its original save location, if yes, move it to Private Safe again.
If you cannot see the file, restart your OPPO phone, then recheck Private Safe.
Go to [Settings] > [Software Updates] and update your phone to the latest software version.
