Should NFC Be Left Turned On or off on OPPO Phone
Near-field communication (NFC) is a wireless technology that enables devices to exchange information when placed next to each other. We suggest turning off NFC on your OPPO smartphone to conserve power when you're not using it. Please refer to the straightforward guide we've provided below to understand why.
Applicable to: All OPPO smartphones that have the NFC feature.
NFC should be disabled when not in use
NFC needs to be turned on before you can use the service. If you're not planning to use NFC, it's recommended that you turn it off to save battery life and avoid possible security risks. While NFC is considered safe, some security experts advise switching it off in public places where it may be vulnerable to hackers. See The NFC Mobile Payment on OPPO Phone to know more about this feature.
How to disable OPPO phone's NFC
There are two ways you can disable your OPPO smartphone's NFC feature:
Through the Control Center
Accessing the NFC through the Control Center is the easiest way to disable this feature. Swipe down from the top of your phone's screen > turn off the [NFC] feature. If you can't see the NFC icon on your Control Center, see How to Rearrange Control Center Icons.
Through Settings
This option will give you a detailed view of the NFC feature:
For ColorOS 12 and above: Go to [Settings] > [Connection & sharing] > [NFC] > enable [NFC]. This should automatically disable the Android Beam. If not, tap [Android Beam] and toggle off to deactivate. Or go to [Android Beam] > Then toggle the switch to disable it.
For ColorOS 11 and below: Go to [Settings] > [Other Wireless Connections] / [ Connection & sharing], and toggle [NFC] to turn it off.
